A bloke walks into a pub and orders a pint in a weird, strangulated
voice.
The barman serves him and asks what's wrong with his throat.
At this, the man undoes has scarf, tilts up his chin and reveals a
hideous knifewound scar that runs from ear to ear across his windpipe.
"Ouch!" the barman cries. "That looks quite nasty, mate. How did you get
it?"
The man takes a swig of beer and struggles to get out an answer. "In the
Falklands."
"The Falklands?" asks the landlord. "Then this drink is on the house.
And have a free brandy too. I have the utmost respect for you brave boys
who put their lives on the line for us in that conflict."
The customer swigs the brandy down in one, and smiles broadly. "Muchas
gracias," he says.
