Post Office Humor

There haven't been too many famous quotes associated with the post
office. The most famous is the one chiseled in stone above the entrance
to the main post office in New York City: 

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers
from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." 
 
Most people don't realize that the quote is 2,000 years old. It comes
from the Greek writer Herodotus, who mailed it in, intending it for the
entrance of the post office in ancient Athens. But you know how the mail
is...
